He’s eclectic, curious, and often fascinated by the simplest things in life.
But most importantly, he works at RESAAS.
This is Meet The Team - a series that'll get you up close and personal with those who work at RESAAS.
Q: What do you do in your position at RESAAS?
A little bit of everything around user interface and user experience design for our RESAAS platform, our MLS technology, and for our enterprise clients' Android and iOS apps.
Q: What has been the most memorable moment for you at RESAAS?
Definitely the launch of our new platform menu. Although we had a soft launch, some user testing and a gradual deployment, it was still a breath-holding moment to observe how the majority of our users will embrace it.
When I started working at RESAAS, we had two menus in two completely different areas of the screen and that can be overwhelming and confusing for some. With our users in mind, we combined both menus into one expandable menu, that’s easy to skim-read.
On top of that, when you’re viewing our platform on a large computer display, you immediately see the navigation near the content area of the page, reducing eye and hand/mouse travel. When you visit the platform on your smartphone, we managed to fit our amazingly extensive menu well into the smallest of smartphone displays.
So far, the feedback has been continuously positive since launch and we continue to find ways of bettering it, improving the platform and empowering our users.
Q: What has been your favourite DevHack project?
I’m passionate about human connection through conversation. Some of my favourite DevHacks revolved around finding ways to introduce our users to each other and building meaningful business connections, within the context of buying and selling real estate.
Q: If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
I like all food, but if I were to choose one, right now, it would be a bowl of ramen. Given the combination of ingredients, it can pretty much have everything you’d want from enjoying a good meal, such as a variety of textures, flavours and aroma, all in one bowl. It can also be served cold for the summer or hot for winter days.
Q: What is the first item on your bucket list?
Currently, I don’t have a bucket list! However, I’m on a quest to see all of Canada. I’ve seen PEI, New Brunswick, Nunavut, Ontario and most of Quebec. I’d love to visit Newfoundland, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, Yukon and Northwest Territories. Other countries I’d like to visit or re-visit would be, Japan, Australia, Mexico and Scandinavian countries.
Q: What is your spirit animal?
Dolphins. They’re smart, friendly, and can ward off sharks. They’re also very caring and playful.
